Edward Cheever

Managing Partner

Edward Cheever is the Managing Member/Partner of Cheever Capital Management LLC, a venture capital operating company, which serves as the General Partner for The Talents Venture Funds Limited Partnerships. Edward has over 35 years of professional investment management experience. He has managed many multi-million dollar private securities offerings and limited partnerships, and has also co-founded several technology businesses. Edward began his career in the banking industry, and then established his own investment and insurance business in 1988. He is a former National Association of Securities Dealers (now Financial Industry Regulatory Authority or “FINRA”) member. Edward obtained seven licensing credentials including licensure as a Registered Principal, authorizing him to manage offices of supervisory jurisdiction with registrations to conduct securities business in seven states. Edward managed millions of dollars through asset management agreements granting him discretionary authority to select and trade securities on behalf of his clients. Edward withdrew from his public securities licensure in 2004 to invest and participate in the venture capital markets. Edward has also served in an executive capacity on behalf of several non-profit organizations, fostering regional, national and international athletic competition.

Milt Cheever

Milt Cheever is a Member/Partner of Cheever Capital Management LLC, a venture capital operating company, which serves as the General Partner for The Talents Venture Funds Limited Partnerships. Milt has a diverse professional background with over 45 years of executive management experience. He has managed many multi-million dollar private securities offerings and limited partnerships, and has also co-founded several technology businesses. Milt began his finance and banking career in 1968, and was manager of several financial institution branch offices. He served as vice president of Home Federal Savings and Loan in Albany, Oregon, where his primary responsibilities were commercial loan origination, underwriting loan approval, and secondary marketing. Milt then established his own commercial real estate finance and development company in 1981. He financed and developed professional office parks, nursing homes, and medical facilities for physician and dental groups, nationally franchised hotels and restaurants, residential subdivisions and planned unit developments. He also taught real estate finance courses at two Oregon colleges. From 1994 to 2009, Milt also owned and operated Cheever Mortgage Company in Albany, Oregon. He has served as president of several national and state professional associations. From 2000 to 2005, Milt served as chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Oregon Association of Mortgage Professionals, initiating important new legislation that was successfully passed into laws regulating the industry. From 2003 to 2008, Milt served as chairman, president, and executive board member of the Western Regional Mortgage Lenders Conference, comprised of twenty-four board members. Milt has also served on the executive board of several non-profit charitable organizations.
